What to Expect When Your Septic Tank is Pumped
If you have a septic system, it needs to be pumped out every three to five years. Paying to get it pumped out will cost a lot less than paying for repairs. Kerkstra Septic Tank Cleaning explains what you can expect when your septic tank is pumped.
Do you have any problems with your septic system? When the technician arrives from the septic services company, tell the technician about these problems. They can be looked at when the tank is empty.
If you know where your septic tank is buried, let the technician know. If your service company is the one you used last time, then they should have a map of where your septic tank is located. If you do not know where your septic tank is, the technician will use a probe into the ground to find it.
The technician will dig down to expose the access lid of the septic tank. Any dirt and sod removed will be replaced. The access lid is opened. The truck will be moved near the spot. A long hose is used to pump the waste out.
When the tank is empty, it will be inspected for damage or corrosion. The technician will talk to you about any problems and make any maintenance suggestions. You sign paperwork and the job is done.
